Sun Dongbao was founded in 1976. It was originally a roadside stall in Taipei City. The owner, Sun Dongbao, was the first to create iron plate steak, and he mainly focused on civilian prices. In the early days of Sun Dongbao’s founding, Lin Shiqin, who worked as a dishwasher in the store, became Sun Dongbao’s eldest disciple and Sun Dongbao’s first franchisee. Later, Lin Shiqin started a family of aristocratic steakhouse chains and acquired the original Sun Dongbao franchise. In 2014, Lin Shiqin bought the trademark rights of Sun Dongbao, and in 2015, he switched from the all-you-can-eat buffet to the affordable steak market, and returned to the Taiwanese steak market with “Sun Dongbao’s Godfather of Taiwanese Steak”.
